Product Overview
Strong, Affordable, and Easy to Assemble
The Classic Sliding Screen Door (Unassembled) offers the same durability and performance as our fully assembled Classic—at a lower price and with reduced shipping costs. Built from heavy-duty extruded aluminum, this door resists bending and warping, unlike cheaper roll-form doors on the market.
The Classic Unassembled ships as a DIY sliding screen door kit, complete with all the parts you need for easy assembly. You still get custom sizing, premium rollers, and a secure latch handle, but with the added benefit of lower shipping costs and easier transport.

Why Everyone Needs a Made-To-Order Screen Door
No door opening is the same size. Even “standard-size” door openings will have some variance due to installation and other factors. Choosing a made-to-size screen door will ensure it fits securely to keep insects out and smoothly slides open and closed – without jamming. You also can choose from a specialty mesh to get more value for your money and can choose from 6 standard colors (more custom colors) to match your home’s trim or door frame color.
Tools You'll Need for Installation
- Screwdriver
- Roller tool (comes with your order)
- Utility knife

How Do I Know What Size Screen Door to Buy?
Measure your old door or the door opening. If your old screen door is the correct size and isn’t damaged, you can measure it to get the correct size measurements for the replacement sliding screen door. If the original door is unavailable, measure the opening of your doorway using one of the two methods below:
- Option A: Measure from top of bottom track up ¼ inch into the top U channel.
- Option B: Measure from tip of track to tip of track and add ā of an inch to overall height

Finally, a screen that fits
I can't believe it never dawned on me to get custom screens. I'd been buying crappy Home Depot replacements that never fit well. I'm a fan of Metro Screenworks!

Metro Screenworks Needs to Have Assembly/Installation Partners
I'm very happy with my new sliding screen door with the pet screen, HOWEVER ... I had to spend a significant amount of time finding someone to assemble and install the door for me. Metro should have a list of preferred referral partners who can do that work for their clients.

sliding patio screen door
Assembly was easy. Fit beautifully with measurements we gave. Excellent quality. My only regret is that I didn't purchase the higher quality screen.

Excellent Fit
The sliding screen door from Metro Screen Works fit our door track perfectly. Color of the frame is excellent and the build quality is also first class. Easy to assemble but you do have to use a mallet to press the corners together snuggly. Overall very happy with the results.

Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic
I have an odd sized patio screen door. Could not find any stock screens anywhere. They built it to exactly the right dimensions. Opted for unassembled to save money. Took about an hour to assemble. It's in and fits perfectly. Fantastic!!
