I was initially worried that the screen would block too much light but after installation it was not a issue. It is slightly darker than a traditional aluminum screen but not too dark. The screen came packaged very well which I was glad to see considering it's cost. If you have never worked with coiled metals you need to be careful when unrolling the stainless screen and keep it under control as it wants to unwind like a spring. Once laying it out it lays surprisingly flat which makes it easy to work with. It can be easily cut with metal snips and the powdercoating and weave holds the cut edge together extremely well with no hint that the end wire wants to fray out.
