Custom Screen Measuring Page
This page is designed to assist you in measuring for window screens. While we will assist you, the final measurements will be your responsibility.
The simplest way of measuring is to measure your existing screens. Provide the width, length and then the thickness of frame. If you live in an apartment or tract housing you may be able to measure a screen from your neighbor who has the same window size if you do not have a screen to measure.
Although screens may be different sizes on your house you may often be able to determine how to measure by looking at existing screens and how they fit into the window.
Once you determine the size next select which if any hardware or screen clips are needed and where they are located on the screen (which side and how far from the edge of screen). The most common types of window screens have tension spring hardware. Below is a drawing of how you would measure for this type of screen. Pull tabs will go on opposite side of the tension springs. Springs go on the side where the screen fits into the deepest channel.
When measuring tension spring window screens, measure from inside the deepest channel to the outside edge of the opposite channel. Also measure the inside dimension of the U channel to determine the proper thickness of the frame. Measure the height to cover the opening without any gaps. You may also want to deduct about an 1/8 of an inch to allow for easy installation. Please keep in mind we ask for +/- 1/16" tolerance when manufacturing screens.

Measuring for Sliding Screen Doors
This page is designed to assist you in measuring for sliding screen screens. While we will assist you, the final measurements will be your responsibility. The simplest way of measuring is to measure your existing screen door. Provide the width and length of the overall frame. If you do not have a screen to measure and you live in an apartment or tract housing you may be able to measure a screen from your neighbor who has the same door size.
If you do not have a door to measure here are the two most common track set ups.
Option A: Measure from tip of track to tip of track and add 1/8" to overall height.
Option B: Measure from top of bottom track up 1/4" into the top U Channel.
We also sell tracking if you do not have tracks. Please refer to our sliding screen door track page online.
Please keep in mind we ask for 1/8" tolerance when manufacturing sliding screen doors. There are rollers on the top and bottom of the door frame that can be adjusted with adjustment screws to help you install the door and to get a good fit.
